More than just great Greek street food, Jimmy Grants is about celebrating all our stories and the people who helped get us here.

J + Immigrants = Jimmy Grants

Jimmy came by boat from Cyprus to Melbourne in 1949. No true blue Aussie could pronounce his Greek name, so they called him “J-immigrant” — just another immigrant.

The name Jimmy Grants is a nod to our immigrant ancestors and the stories our grandfathers told us, of the old days working on the Melbourne wharfs. Of the way the Aussies would call everyone else, whether from Greece, Asia or the Middle East — ‘Jimmy Grant’.

Our name represents the migrant story – how Jimmy’s grandparents turned up, were looked down upon, rolled up their sleeves and battled on.

Real souvas, real quick.

We share that passion for our heritage by using quality, local ingredients. Whether it be the chicken we cook in store on a rotisserie over an open fire or the lamb we slow cook for 12 hours, we do everything with the same loving care as our ancestors would.

Prepared slow. Served fast. Jimmy makes real Greek street food. No greasy late night souvas here, we’re all about fresh tasty ingredients.

Jimmy loves supporting his community

We like to keep it real, which is why we love helping others. We are proud to support:
